Advantages of Using a Limousine Service When Traveling

Posted in Education on September 27th, 2009

Those who travel frequently, whether for business or for personal reasons, know how frustrating and annoying traveling can be. Airports and airplanes are full of their own little annoyances including long security procedures and long periods of time spent sitting in an undersized seat. But getting to and from the airport can be just as big of a hassle. Buses and shuttles can add hours of extra commute time, and parking at the airport yourself can be expensive and you still have to take the shuttle to the terminal.

A traveling option you may not have considered before is limousine service. Most limousine services specialize in taking clients to and from airports with the least amount of trouble for you. They will drop you off right the terminal doors and you won’t have to deal with airport traffic.

Another added benefit of limousine service that many people don’t consider is the advantage of having an experienced driver. Unlike taxi cabs, limousines typically come with drivers who can help you around a new city. For frequent travelers, finding your way around new cities can be frustrating and stressful, but an experienced driver can take you anywhere you need to go, can even suggestion on where to eat, and can even help you carry any luggage you have.

And of course, limousines offer the best there is in luxury travel, and many include accommodations to help you stay connected to your business affairs. And the cleanliness and spacious area is incomparable to other forms of travel. If you’re looking for a limousine service in Florida, BTS Limousine offers incomparable Jacksonville limousine services to take you to and from the airport and to help you get around the city.

No matter the reason for your travel, a limousine service offers many benefits to make your traveling experience less stressful and more enjoyable.

Limousine 101: The Ins and Outs of Limo Etiquette for Teenagers

Posted in Education on September 26th, 2009

If you plan on hiring a limo service in Monterey or anywhere else for your northern California homecoming dance, prom, or other big event, it is important to know some of the ins and outs of limousine etiquette. You must remember that although you have hired the car for the evening, it is not yours: it belongs to the limo company, and it will need to carry other passengers the very next day.

1. You are expected to behave in an orderly fashion

Because a limo holds up to 10 extremely comfortably, it does feel as if you are sitting in a living room on wheels. However, this “living room” also has a chauffeur up front whose job it is to stay safely on the road. Engaging in super rowdy behavior is not only rude, but it can also be downright dangerous because it will distract the driver. The limo company will reserve the right to expel anyone from its car who is out of control, damaging property, or behaving dangerously. No matter what you’ve seen in movies, standing up through the sunroof is not allowed nor is it appropriate behavior!

2. Do not drink

If you are underage and choose to drink while in the limo, the driver has the right to stop the ride right then and there without issuing a refund for all that money you paid. California law is extremely strict regarding underage drinking, and limo companies are extra careful to make sure that they are in compliance.

3. Be kind to your chauffeur

Most limo services will allow you to bring your own music CDs, but be kind to your chauffeur and don’t complain if he wants to put the privacy window up! He is your escort for the evening and should always be treated with the utmost respect. It is customary to pay a driver a 15% to 20% tip based on the cost of your ride. It should be given to him in cash, in a sealed envelope and you should give it to him right after your ride is over.

I Have Collected A Lot of Things

Posted in Education on September 25th, 2009

Throughout my childhood and into my youth I collected many things. I think this started with my rock collection. I used egg cartons to keep them separate, and with my mom’s help, had each rock type labeled. As I got older I began collecting a variety of other things from stamps, coins, collecting cards, magic tricks, etc. My stamp collection is interesting because I don’t think I really had all that much interest in stamps. My grandparents, however, would save stamps from all of their world travels, some new and some used, and give them all to me. I actually have a large book full of various stamps. Hmmm, I wonder if I could get some good money on ebay.

Coin collecting was quite cool. My grandmother on the other side provided me with all sorts of coin collecting supplies that organized everything so I knew which coins I still needed. I still have a plaque that has all the coins from my birth year that she gave me when I was baptized.

Looking back, my collection of Garbage Pail Kids cards is a bit funny, but they are probably the most valuable collection I have. Go figure. My mom used pack of these cards as rewards for doing good or helping her around the house.
My sport card collection consists of basketball and football cards. By the time I began collecting these, the market was saturated with sports cards, so my collection doesn’t have much value.

Keeping Your Car’s Exterior Clean

Posted in Medical on September 25th, 2009

Owning a car is an investment. Neglected cars may end up costing more in the long run than a car that is consistently well maintained. Cars that are maintained last longer and function better than cars that are neglected, saving hundreds even thousands of dollars with just a little weekly maintenance.

One aspect of car maintenance is often overlooked: washing. Care of the exterior of the vehicle is important. Dirty and neglected exteriors can damage paint, cause parts to rust and oxidize, and hurt the resale value of your car and maybe even cause problems with the way the car functions.

Washing your car should become a consistent habit. Here are a few ways to keep your car’s exterior is in the best condition possible. First, one common idea is that using dish detergent is the best way to clean your car. This is incorrect. Dish detergents contain products designed to remove oils and fats. This can damage the wax and paint of your car with consistent use. Make sure you’re using a car wash or shampoo product designed for the exterior of your car.

The right car wash equipment NY is key. Websites like carwashworld.com offer these products. They can ship great car wash equipment anywhere from NY to California. Once you have it, put this product into a bucket with cool water. Hot water can soften the wax. Another important thing to consider is the sun. If you’re washing your car in the heat of the day you can cause damage to your paint and leave streaks on the finish. Make sure you wash in the shade during the cool parts of the day.

Gently wet the car then use your soap mixture, starting from the top of the car to the bottom. Wash the vehicle a section at a time so that the soap doesn’t dry. Once finished rinse the car and dry it promptly with a towel made specifically for car exteriors. Using this method will ensure that you keep the best possible quality on the exterior of your vehicle.

Today’s New Flexible Packaging: What Is Right For Your Product?

Posted in Medical on September 24th, 2009

Using the right kind of packaging for your product is more important than ever. New products are hitting the shelves every day and companies have to use every possible method to attract attention and market themselves effectively: all while keeping costs down! There are plenty of options in flexible packaging on the market: you just have to decide what will work best for your product. Here’s a little bit of information about some different types of packaging to help you decide.

1. Shrink Films

Shrink films are a simple and cost-effective way to package solid objects. Although shrink film technology is nothing new, today’s materials are stronger than ever and offer more options in packaging. For example, some films can be preprinted with brilliant graphics, allowing your shrink wrapped product to look professional while eliminating a labeling step for you. Lower gauge films are clearer and more attractive than their predecessors, making shrink film a choice worth considering.

2. Reduced volume packaging

Taking the air out of your tires is a bad thing, but taking the air out of compressible merchandise means more compact flexible packaging for easier transport and easier display. Plastic encases the object completely, keeping it safe and protected. However, the volume inside the package can be reduced at least 80% without harming the merchandise. Once freed from its packaging, the merchandise returns to its normal dimensions.

3. Hangable Packaging

Packaging your goods in bags or other containers that can be hung means they will be easier to display once they get to the store. Shelf space is always at a premium, so anything that can be hung will have an immediate advantage with retailers. Heat-sealed bags are a great option to use as hangable packaging and a clear design will allow consumers to get a tantalizing eyeful of the goodies inside too.

Make sure to consult with a flexible packaging expert before making any big decisions: your choice of packaging style could make or break your long term success in a crowded market place.

How Can High End Industries Survive in a Bad Economy

Posted in Business on September 22nd, 2009

When the economy turns south, we all feel it. Especially if our business offers a luxury service or luxury product to middle America. When times are tough, middle America tightens the noose on their budgets and a required to do away with many luxuries to focus on the necessities. Other businesses that target lower budget or discount budgets will obviously thrive. For example; a steak house may have a bit of a hit, while a corner cheap burger joint may flourish. Purchases at the department stores may slack, while business at Ross and the dollar store is booming.

An area that is surprising to most is that of services offered to the ultra rich. This class has so much money, and make money regardless of the state of the economy, that services offered to them can do well in spite of the economy. Examples of these would include Rolex repair, or Lamborghini repair. While hot vacation spots may see a decrease in visitors, the highest class resorts will see no change at all.

You may wonder why this is. Well, the ultra rich do not have jobs to lose. If you are the owner, the investor, the orchestrator, unemployment rates do not affect your paycheck as directly. Business owners understand cycling economies and know how to make money in down markets. Big time investors certainly understand fluctuating markets and have taken emotion out of the equation. They also know how to invest in down markets. That’s how.
