Itâs Great Living so Close to Thanksgiving Point
We have lived a mile away from Thanksgiving Point for several years now, however it was only this last summer that we bought a pass to Thanksgiving Point. Some neighbors of ours relayed how great it was and recommended it to anyone. We thought it sounded like a great idea and thought we would try it out this year.
In the few short months that we have had it, we have certainly gotten our money’s worth and beyond. We will be buying a family pass every year moving forward for sure. The three main attractions are the dinosaur museum, the gardens, and the petting zoo.
Their petting zoo is called Farm Country. When you come in the entrance, there is a variety of educational displays about farming. For example there are typically eggs being warmed in an incubator and newly born chickens in a window next door. There is also a model cow that you can pretend to milk, followed by a replica of one of the milk jug filling machines you might find at a dairy. There are all types of farm animals from cows and horses, to chickens, rabbits, pigs, goats, and much, much more.
The dinosaur museum boasts being the largest dinosaur museum in the world. One of my favorite things there is a replica of a supersaurus dinosaur that is about 180 feet long. It is just amazing to me to imagine seeing one of these creatures in real life. As a result of the museum, my four year old daughter has asked us some very intelligent questions. If you haven’t been, you should check it out.
