The Bank Bags Behind the Scenes

I guess it never occurred to me that banks actually had to order supplies like bank bags. I might have noticed that banks needed to order pens, paper, checks, ATM cards, cash and coins to serve their customers, but I don’t usually think about money bags because I never see them. Perhaps I would be more familiar with bank bags if I was filthy rich and required a significant substantial container to hold my money every time I made a withdrawal. On the other hand, even if I was that rich I would probably still rely mostly on cards and checks to make purchases bypassing the need for bank bags.

Before writing this blog, my extensive exposure to money bags was limited to the cartoon illustrations depicted on T.V. of green or beige sacks with the dollar sign across the front that are usually in the hands of villains and crooks. With my curiosity peaked on this mysterious subject though, I have since done a little research and learned that bank bags really do exist and they certainly don’t match the stereotypical image of Saturday morning cartoons. In reality, bank bags can be large or small, clear or colored and appear unremarkable or stamped with personalized logos.

Although it might be nice to have attractive looking bank bags, the paramount quality I would look for in a bank bag as a financial manager is security. After all, if those bags are going to be used to transfer money, they had better be sturdy and durable. For example, I don’t want the zippers wearing out as quickly as they do on some back packs and a couple locks wouldn’t be amiss either. They also shouldn’t be too expensive because there’s no sense in breaking the bank for a bag.
