It’s Great Living so Close to Thanksgiving Point

Posted in Advertising and Marketing on December 31st, 2009

We have lived a mile away from Thanksgiving Point for several years now, however it was only this last summer that we bought a pass to Thanksgiving Point.  Some neighbors of ours relayed how great it was and recommended it to anyone.  We thought it sounded like a great idea and thought we would try it out this year.

In the few short months that we have had it, we have certainly gotten our money’s worth and beyond.  We will be buying a family pass every year moving forward for sure.  The three main attractions are the dinosaur museum, the gardens, and the petting zoo.

Their petting zoo is called Farm Country.  When you come in the entrance, there is a variety of educational displays about farming.  For example there are typically eggs being warmed in an incubator and newly born chickens in a window next door.  There is also a model cow that you can pretend to milk, followed by a replica of one of the milk jug filling machines you might find at a dairy.  There are all types of farm animals from cows and horses, to chickens, rabbits, pigs, goats, and much, much more.

The dinosaur museum boasts being the largest dinosaur museum in the world.  One of my favorite things there is a replica of a supersaurus dinosaur that is about 180 feet long.  It is just amazing to me to imagine seeing one of these creatures in real life.  As a result of the museum, my four year old daughter has asked us some very intelligent questions.  If you haven’t been, you should check it out.

Advertise on the Internet and Expand

Posted in Business on October 30th, 2009

When it comes down to advertising, most business owners do not want to spend any more money than is really necessary in order to get the same results. It is great getting more business, but if you are paying too much money for it, you are just wasting money. Also, if you find out that you would get the same business traffic regardless of whether or not you advertised a certain way, money is being wasted. That is why it is very important to have some kind of a way to track how customers heard about your business. Do most of your new customers come from client referrals or is it because of some actual advertising you are paying for? Instead of just turning to the local telephone directories or billboards which can be quite expensive, I offer a new thought for you. Invest in some internet marketing for your small business and see exactly how your business traffic is affected. You can have a team of professionals working for your business to make it more popular.

There are some businesses which advertise on local levels while other businesses are nationwide companies. When you are using internet marketing, it does not really matter whether you are looking to find customers locally or nationally. These internet marketing companies will help you get set up with what you are looking for. Go to http://www.orangesoda.com to see one internet marketing business learn what services they can provide to you. Many people use the internet these days to find information and this is just another way for potential customers to find your business.

How Can High End Industries Survive in a Bad Economy

Posted in Business on September 22nd, 2009

When the economy turns south, we all feel it. Especially if our business offers a luxury service or luxury product to middle America. When times are tough, middle America tightens the noose on their budgets and a required to do away with many luxuries to focus on the necessities. Other businesses that target lower budget or discount budgets will obviously thrive. For example; a steak house may have a bit of a hit, while a corner cheap burger joint may flourish. Purchases at the department stores may slack, while business at Ross and the dollar store is booming.

An area that is surprising to most is that of services offered to the ultra rich. This class has so much money, and make money regardless of the state of the economy, that services offered to them can do well in spite of the economy. Examples of these would include Rolex repair, or Lamborghini repair. While hot vacation spots may see a decrease in visitors, the highest class resorts will see no change at all.

You may wonder why this is. Well, the ultra rich do not have jobs to lose. If you are the owner, the investor, the orchestrator, unemployment rates do not affect your paycheck as directly. Business owners understand cycling economies and know how to make money in down markets. Big time investors certainly understand fluctuating markets and have taken emotion out of the equation. They also know how to invest in down markets. That’s how.

A Few Basics About Finding Your New Orange County Office Space

Posted in Business on August 30th, 2009

If you are starting a business in Orange County, California, you’ve chosen one of the most beautiful, vibrant areas of the country to work in! The downturn in the economy has hit SoCal extremely hard, just as it has all across the nation, but things are turning around and now is a great time to take advantage of new opportunities. Finding your Orange County office space should be the first order of the day since you need a home base from which to operate. Here are some of the basics about taking on your new property.

– Rent or Buy?

When it comes to Orange County office space, it is probably wiser to lease the room you need rather than invest in a whole building. For one thing, you will not be tying up valuable cash flow that you need to get off the ground, and you may discover that the office space you initially select may not suit your long-term needs.

– How do I find what I need?

The one positive aspect of a slower economy is that there is more office space available to rent; also, the lessening demand means that you have more negotiating leverage. As far as locating a property, check out OC Office Search.com (http://www.ocofficesearch.com). By filling out an online application which includes your desired location, price range, and square footage needs, you will quickly and easily be able to access information that previously could only be seen by real estate professionals.

Finding your Orange County office space has never been easier: it just takes a little time and a little research to find the perfect facility you need to get your new business off the ground.

Trouble finding a Unique Gift

Posted in Business on August 1st, 2009

When I give a gift to someone, it is usually hard because I want them to like it and to know I put some thought into it. It is always easy to resort back to the canister of cashews, or the gift cards. My brothers birthday was this last weekend, and I ran into the same dilemma. After walking every isle in Costco and finding no gift ideas other that a years supply of junk food, I decided to scour Walmart. I left with my head low still with no ideas. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, I saw a toy store that I had never been inside before and thought it could not hurt to look. I found a great board game called Blokus that I had played years before and knew my brother would like it. Fortunately, while we were playing the game, he agreed that it was a pretty awesome game. Hopefully it is one that will get used throughout the years instead of gathering dust.

I was given two swords as gifts from my company several years ago. This was very cool at the time, because they look very cool. Afterwards, I wondered what on earth I was to do with them. My wife, nervous that our children would injure themselves, insisted they were placed somewhere out of reach. They have been on display above the hutch on my office desk, and attract the attention of everyone that visits our home. They always ask if they are sharp, and I have to let them down, because no, they are not sharp. I guess they are a good conversation piece.

Driving Green: Diesel vs. Hybrids

Posted in Business on July 27th, 2009

As gas prices continue to climb, the economy is stalled and our national consciousness is turning greener by the day. The only choice for a green initiative, gas saving car the last few years has been the hybrid, a combination of electricity and the gas engine. Hybrid cars can get up to 54 miles per gallon in the city and 48 miles per gallon on the highway, a phenomenal benchmark compared to gasoline engines. But now, there is an alternative that’s making a comeback: diesel engines.

This time around, the new clean burning engine, is not your mother’s diesel engine. There’s no plume of black, stinky smoke, no rattle like there are marbles in the gas tank and there is torque in the power. Volkswagen has introduced a new diesel to American motorists in the TDI engines of the Jetta sedan, SportWagen and Touareg SUV. The VW TDI engines burn clean and have a low carbon footprint without sacrificing driving dynamics. A diesel car typically can get 30 miles per gallon in the city and 40 plus miles per gallon on the highway.

Volkswagen reports a spike in sales on the east coast and across the nation since introducing the TDI engine models. A possible reason for a rise in sales is the decline in diesel fuel prices but a driving force is better fuel economy and better driving performance than a hybrid.

Now diesel and hybrid technologies direct the American consumer’s attention to fuel efficiency as well as environmental consciousness. Whether driving a diesel or a hybrid, consumers can drive with a clean conscience knowing that their choice is helping the environment. Check out Jettas at VW dealers NJ or your favorite VW dealer.
