As some of you may know, it is tradition that you give little party favors away to the guests who attend your celebration. Typically this is done at things like bridal showers, weddings, and baby showers to say thank you for coming and sharing the day with us. Sometimes the party favors get to be so time consuming and extravagant, but the truly valued gifts are those that are thoughtful and creative. As our country becomes more and more environmentally conscious, it’s important that we do our part to get the word out about saving our planet and being aware of our environmental footprint. There is a website at www.treeinabox.com where I read about a company that sells everything you need to plant a tree from a seed and it’s all in a cute little box. These can be given away as gifts. It’s less expensive than buying a tree that’s already half grown plus it’s easier to gift wrap. The thing that caught my eye was that it suggested the idea of giving trees as green wedding favors. They offer personalized labels that you can use for the tree boxes as well as plenty of other wedding ideas like thank you cards and invitations. It’s just a fun thing to think that everyone who comes to your wedding will get a tree that they can plant and grow themselves. Every time they look at it, maybe they’ll remember your wedding day. Such a great idea!
