I Never Want to Shred Paper Again!

I kept asking myself, “What is that infuriating whirring noise?” As I sat in the comfort of my home reading a book on the couch, I could not figure out where the noise was coming from or what is even was. I glanced over at my wife and she was seemingly undisturbed.

“Cant you hear that noise?” I asked with a tone of slight confusion and even a little frustration.

My wife looked up from her book, furrowed her brow in concentration as she cocked her head and listened. “No, I don’t hear anything at all.”

“Oh, ok. Never mind then.”

I sat and wondered what the noise could possible be. As my mind unwittingly wandered over the events of my day, I suddenly realize where the noise was coming from: the sound of the paper shredder had burned itself into my mind.

That day at the office I had decided to go through room full of old sensitive documents and finally shred them. The noise was irksome to me and everyone else in the office. To make things worse, when I finally finished going through old boxes (which I had to do myself because others would not have known exactly what needed to be destroyed) I had a couple of employees help me carry the large trash bags of shredding to the dumpster.

As if the shredding process wasn’t bad enough, one of my employees accidentally ripped open one of the bags while carrying it and paper shreds exploded everywhere as if we were throwing confetti at a celebration of some sort.

As my thoughts returned to the present sitting on my couch, I was overwhelmed with how much I detested shredding paper. I put my book down and went to my computer to look for companies that do paper shredding in Charlotte or in neighboring areas.

As I sit hear in front of my computer now, the one thought that keeps coming back to me (interrupted only by the memory of the sound of the paper shredder) is “I never want to waste my time shredding paper again!”
