Scariest Denver Haunted Houses

I was surprised to learn that there are a large number of haunted houses in Denver. When I think of Denver, I think of the movie The Unsinkable Molly Brown, of snow skiing and a big airport, but I guess there are a lot of people in the area who like a good scare during the month of October.

Four of the most popular haunted houses in Denver have collaborated to sell passes that are honored at all four frightful establishments. If you can’t afford to spend $45 on an all-inclusive haunted house pass though, you may have to choose just one or two places to visit.

To help narrow down the choices, it may be helpful to learn a little about each house. I don’t mean learning so much that you can draw a blueprint of the place you are going to – after all, that would make it a lot harder to be surprised and scared during your visit – but it would be nice to know things like the themes, props and actors at each house and their hours of operation and admission prices.

Personally, when I try to find ratings, I feel like number systems give me a better idea of how well each category is presented than relative descriptions like “it was really scary.” If 10 is the scariest ranking that a house can be given, and one earns a 7 while another earns a five, I know immediately which place will fit my needs best. Ranking the houses in order of scariest to least-scariest would also be a great help to parents who are trying to decide which places would be the most fun for their family.
