Creating A Flowing Living Space
My wife and I moved into a house that is only a couple of years old in a newer neighborhood and have been happy with our purchase, but there is one thing about the residence that is bothering us and that is the carpeting. On the main level the spacious living room extends into the kitchen and there is a place where we have a hanging chandelier that is above a dining table. With a patrician wall that separates the kitchen from the open seating area the builder put linoleum in the food preparation portion of the kitchen, but carpeted the living room so that the dining table overlaps both the carpet and the laminate. With a ceiling accent that makes the distinction between rooms we have considering pulling up all of the flooring and doing something that will give the whole level a more even flow or texture and color.
What we have decided on is to have an Atlanta hardwood floors dealer measure the space from the front door and stairs to the kitchen and resurface the entire area with a beautifully finished bamboo wood that is both durable and environmentally friendly. Using the natural finish to tie the house together we can then add accent rugs to the living room to make a more clearly defined separation from the kitchen and dining area and not have to worry about any mishaps that spill over from the dinner table to the current carpet. Once completed the hardwood floor will also give us the option of adding a leaf to the table to Thanksgiving without being awkward or unsightly.
