Living Where the Grass is Greener

The house I grew up in stood right next to a golf course and I can honestly say that it was wonderful to have such a beautiful, green backdrop nearby that was always well maintained and manicured. Everyone admired the view from our windows that we didn’t have to lift a finger to enjoy. We did get at least one golf ball through a window but, for the most part, my family has lived in that house for 15 years without sustaining any injuries.

There are plenty of golf courses in Utah – which is surprising since the state has such a desert environment – but one of the newest and most affordable places to build a new home by the green is in North Utah County. Residential lots in Southmoor, which are part of a planned community called The Ranches, are a great deal. By choosing to build in that area, residents enjoy a tennis court and a basketball court, a pool, picnic areas and playgrounds in addition to the beauty of the golf course. And, if you are a golfing guru like my grandpa, you’ll probably be in paradise just living that close to the green anyway.

Even though the development is new, thousands of families call the area home which means there are already neighbors, schools, restaurants and shopping centers established there as well. Consequently, you won’t be alone it you head out to the Ranches. With great neighbors, views and homes in the neighborhood, you might want to check out a few of the lots.
